At Accountably, we connect top talent in India with exciting opportunities at US CPA, EA, and accounting firms. The company was founded by a US-licensed CPA who spent 7+ years inside US firms.
About the Role
You own the calendar. Every run, deposit and filing has a date, an owner and a status the firm can see, and nothing is released without the firm's approval.
You Will
- Process new hires, terminations, rate changes, deductions and garnishments
- Run payrolls on each client's platform and review the register against the prior run
- Prepare federal and state deposits and send them for the firm's approval
- Prepare quarterly 941s and state unemployment returns in their windows
- Prepare and reconcile W-2s, W-3s and 1099s at year end
- Tie payroll registers to the general ledger and track the compliance calendar per client and per state
Tools
Gusto, ADP, Paychex, QuickBooks Payroll, Rippling, Paylocity, OnPay, Patriot, QuickBooks, Xero
About You
Your Background
- A commerce, accounting or CA-track degree for early-career roles, or two-plus years in accounting or tax for experienced roles
- Strong accounting fundamentals and the will to learn US work. We teach the US side.
Nice to Have
US experience helps and shapes the role you start in. Any of these is a plus:
- Federal withholding, FICA and deposit schedules
- State withholding, SUI, SDI and local taxes
- Multi-state registration, reciprocity and remote-worker rules
- Time in Gusto, ADP, Paychex or QuickBooks Payroll
Why This Role
Each client's pay dates, deposits and filings sit on one calendar that you run. Specialists who earn it take on multi-state clients: registrations, reciprocity, local taxes, quarterly filings, year-end reconciliation and amended returns.
