Bookkeeper

Accounting & Bookkeeping Junior In office, Ahmedabad or Indore

Open role

We reply to every application.

At Accountably, we connect top talent in India with exciting opportunities at US CPA, EA, and accounting firms. The company was founded by a US-licensed CPA who spent 7+ years inside US firms.

About the Role

You carry several of a CPA firm's clients on a rolling weekly cadence, so no client is ever more than a week behind and close week is a formality. Anything you cannot code with confidence goes on a per-client query log for the reviewer or the client, never into a suspense account.

You Will

  • Code transactions to each client's chart of accounts and keep bank feed rules up to date
  • Reconcile bank, credit card and loan accounts every week, as statements arrive
  • Enter and match bills, apply customer payments and clear unapplied cash
  • Keep the per-client query log current
  • Run the month-end close checklist to the firm's standard
  • Leave workpapers the reviewer can follow without asking

Tools

QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, Xero, Sage, NetSuite, Dext, Hubdoc, Bill.com, A2X, Karbon, TaxDome

About You

Your Background

  • A commerce, accounting or CA-track degree for early-career roles, or two-plus years in accounting or tax for experienced roles
  • Strong accounting fundamentals and the will to learn US work. We teach the US side.

Nice to Have

US experience helps and shapes the role you start in. Any of these is a plus:

  • Accrual and cash basis, and when a client switches
  • Chart of accounts design and mapping
  • Accruals, prepayments, deferred revenue and fixed asset entries
  • Time in QuickBooks Online or Desktop, Xero, Sage or NetSuite

Why This Role

You work across several clients' books every week, not a single ledger. Bookkeepers who earn it move on to the messier books: multi-entity, inventory-heavy, job-costed or e-commerce clients, plus catch-up and cleanup engagements.
